The event will be held at Gillette Ridge at 1360 Hall Blvd. Registration will begin at 10:30 am, with a putting contest held 11am - noon, and a shotgun start to follow. The day’s events will include a raffle and prizes. Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
“We are very excited about our participation in this EMCOR initiative. This golf tournament, with everybody beginning play in Pink Hard Hats, is going to create a demonstrable plea for women and men to “Protect Yourself” through breast cancer screening and awareness,” said Mr. Dana Finnegan, President of NEMSI, and host of the event. “As a company that has built its reputation on being actively engaged in the concerns of our industry and our community, it’s gratifying to demonstrate our support for breast cancer screening and awareness, standing among our dedicated employees, clients, and partners.”
Among the attendees at the tournament will be Johan Lavery, Administrative Manager at NEMSI. Johan is a breast cancer survivor and is proud to tell her story in support of this important cause. She is a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and has participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Bushnell Park since its inception.
“I went through chemotherapy which, as many know, is not a fun. Four treatments, three weeks apart, blood tests, hair loss, nausea, and fighting depression, then the positive results have only made me a better person able to enjoy the moment, be thankful for every day and have a deep respect for the power of positive thinking, the power of prayer and power of laugher,” said Ms. Lavery. “The support and caring shown by those around me was the inspiration to keep going.”
