Rod’s responsibilities include overall financial management of the Fairfield office; supervision of branch personnel; sales; engineering; and pricing of work as related to the retrofit, repair, or construction of HVAC systems. It is his responsibility to supply the best possible service to all customers.

 

Expertise
Rod joined New England Mechanical Services, Inc., in November 1992 as a Sales Engineer in the Construction Division. A short time later Rod was promoted to manager, and in 2002 was made vice president for Fairfield County. Mr. Dapkins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan and is a registered Professional Engineer in Connecticut. He is also a member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers).

 

Prior to joining New England Mechanical Services, Inc., Mr. Dapkins attained the position of General Manager of Sales and Engineering for J. P. Salmini Company, Inc., in Milford, CT.

 

Mr. Dapkins’ career in the construction industry began in 1967. Since then, he has worked as a manufacturer’s representative; sold HVAC systems for multi-family housing; performed plan and specification work up to $3,000,000; and designed and built new and renovated systems for all types of buildings-including two thermal storage (ICE) systems in office buildings larger than 200,000 square feet.
