Matt joined NEMSI in 2002, and is responsible for developing business opportunities; providing engineering support for all operating divisions; and promoting NEMSI through industry associations and new business relationships.
Expertise
Matt joined NEMSI from Trane's Connecticut sales office where he was their Director of Performance Contracting, responsible for energy analysis and sales of performance-based contracts. He also became overall sales manager. Prior to that, Matt started up and managed the Connecticut office for a Boston-based consulting engineering firm, and also worked as a mechanical and electrical engineer in the corporate design and construction group of Digital Equipment Corporation. His engineering experience includes office buildings; laboratories; hospitals; high-tech facilities; industrial and manufacturing facilities; chilled water plants; and educational facilities.
Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from the University of Arizona, and is a registered professional engineer in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
Matt is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional, and a Certified Building Commissioning Professional.
Matt's Professional affiliations include three years with the University of Hartford's Construction Institute (CI) as chairman of the Marketing Committee, and current service on the Institute's Board of Advisors. He was president of Capitol Region Chapter #79 of the Association of Facilities Engineering (AFE) for five years, is a full member and Research Chair for the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Technical Committee 7.8 (Owning & Operating Costs), and also serves as Treasurer to ASHRAE's Connecticut Chapter. In 1989, he received the ASHRAE Boston Chapter Member of the Year Award. He also received a First Place Award in the Connecticut ASHRAE Energy & Technology Competition (1996) for chiller plant renovations at Middlesex Hospital.

Matt resides in Coventry with is wife Nancy, and has two sons.
